The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

This video made me smile and have a positive attitude. This entire video had very positive attitude. Even though Mr. Pausch had a medical history he still was positive and in great health. He talked about how he was very blessed as a child. He talked about his childhood dreams. Even though he did not accomplish all the dreams on his list he came really close to doing it. I really like how he mentioned one than once about brick walls. He said that brick walls were there to show people if they want something bad enough then one will go through or over it to get to the other side.
I really enjoyed hearing about all the great things that he had accomplished over his lifetime.  From meeting Captain Kirk, floating at ground zero, and winning all the stuffed animals. I really admire him for teaching people to try to accomplish their dreams and to never give up. Mr. Pausch accomplished so many things throughout his life.  He said to never lose the childlike wonder; this is what keeps us going. He also told us to never give up! He also mentioned that…. “be good at something and you will be valuable.”
While teaching, he told students to work on projects such as virtual tours. He was so overwhelmed with the students’ projects.  They did exceptionally well.  Mr. Pausch then called his mentor and asked what he needed to do next because the students did more than what were told. The mentor told him to tell the students that they could do better.  With project after project they improved every time.  I really like how he made the students work together. He took them on field trips and it was a very interactive experience for the students.
I really enjoyed watching this video. This video was nothing but positive and taught me to never give up on my dreams. I really like how he used the example, are we going to be a tigger or and eeyore?  I learned that when that brick wall comes up that it will just show me how much dedication I really have to go over it, under it, or through it to get to the other side. Nothing should stand in our way when we strive to do accomplish something.

  1. You are completely right; this video was very upbeat and positive the whole way through. I enjoyed watching it as well. Dr. Pausch’s lecture was so inspirational. It doesn’t seem possible to not want to go achieve your goals after listening to what he had to say. I also liked how he mentioned the brick walls and said that they’re only there to show us how badly we want something. He makes anything seem possible as long as you don’t give up and work hard to achieve your goals. His own life was a great example, since he accomplished most of his childhood dreams.

  2. Hi, Tiffany!

How Randy Pausch taught is just as important as how he led his life!
